Claire Ede - Diploma in Psychodynamic counselling, fully accredited senior member of the B.A.C.P., trained E.M.D.R therapist and member of the E.M.D.R. Association U.K.

I am a fully accredited senior member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, holding a diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling obtained from the Tunbridge Wells Counselling Centre and I am also a trained E.M.D.R. therapist and a member of the E.M.D.R. Association U.K.

I have worked with adults, students and children for over 16 years with fostering agencies, schools, with EAPs, a sexual abuse charity and in my own practice. I work with a range of issues including; anxiety, abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, bereavement, depression, health related issues, post traumatic stress, sexual abuse, sexuality, sexual related issues, self esteem and relationships.

My approach is fundamentally psychodynamic on a weekly basis in a quiet and private space. Sessions can also be carried out by internet or by phone. Psychodynamic work involves supportively exploring your past, looking at how it may be replaying in your present and considering any changes you might want to make for the future. I adhere to the B.A.C.P. guidelines for practice, which includes regular supervision and I have professional liability insurance.

E.M.D.R (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a targeted therapeutic approach to reprocess maladaptively stored memories. It allows a person to desensitise the emotional impact of the memory- allowing them to think of the targeted event with less intense feelings.

The fee is £50 per session, each one lasts 50 minutes although the initial session may be a little longer to check that we can both work together and that this style of work is the most suitable.
